In Alone's driest location yet, ten new participants must survive in the Great Karoo desert as they face extreme temperatures, new species of predators, and a host of exhausting challenges, all for a chance to win $500,000. With big game more abundant than ever, some play the odds, while one survivalist gets hit with a debilitating infection.
Faced with skittish game and unfamiliar plants, the final group of survivalists quickly learns their earliest strategies will be met with unforgiving resistance.
The Karoo Desert's heat and lack of shade continue to force the survivalists to focus on water or risk dehydration. Some participants get creative in stockpiling this life-saving resource, while others find themselves realizing it's a little too late.
The survivalists finally begin to cash in on food as game proves to be plentiful. This prosperity is short-lived, however, as dark clouds loom in the distance.
In the aftermath of a freak storm, the remaining survivalists take stock of their place in the game. One participant takes a risk on an ambitious shelter, while another unknowingly finds themselves poised on a knife's edge.
Starvation and exhaustion push the survivalists to their limits as wild game taunts them at every turn. While one participant looks for a reason to carry on, another teeters on the edge of their breaking point.
The remaining survivalists make a final push to the finish line, but only one can win the $500,000 prize and make Alone history as the first winner in a desert climate.
