Episode 1
On a hot summer day, Erwin drives his tanker truck north across the Öresund Bridge whilst smuggling eight Syrian refugees. When he sees a police checkpoint ahead of him on the road, a fatal mistake leaves him with a life-changing choice.

Syrian refugee Mouna manages to escape Erwin and Rainer, who continue to search for her. At the same time, Erwin is tormented by what he has done. Police officer Anja Kovacs comes into contact with a driver who gave Mouna a lift.

When a woman disappears from a retirement home, it leads to a surprising opening in Anja’s investigation. At the same time, she is reminded of the death of her brother and father in Bosnia. Erwin, under pressure, is close to a breakdown.
